About The Position

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring a Platform Engineer. In this fully remote role, you'll ensure the performance, security and durability of platforms (as well as maintaining the infrastructure and services required to support them). On-call rotation is part of the schedule for this team. Our ideal candidates will come with expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration along with hands-on experience in Ansible and Terraform . Proficiency in YAML and PowerShell scripting is required. Expertise in Nutanix technology (including AHV, Cluster Deployment, and Leap) is also required. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus; proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) is also preferred. Please note: - Sponsorship is not available for this role. - While this is a fully remote role, the final round of interviews will take place onsite at our Chattanooga, TN office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required.
• Equivalent years of experience are defined as 4 years of professional experience.
• 3 years of experience in an Information Technology role required.
• Applied knowledge of infrastructure technologies including infrastructure services, platform technologies and monitoring tools.
• Systematic, fact based decision making and problem solving.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with all internal/external stakeholders, promoting diversity of perspectives, ideas and cultures.
• Exceptional work ethic, high sense of urgency, driven, self-motivated, highly accountable with strong initiative and passion.
• Ability to clearly articulate ideas, problem/solution/business value descriptions that can be understood by a broad audience
• Organization skills and ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously
• Must be willing to adjust schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.
• Expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration

Responsibilities

• Builds the infrastructure and services required to support platforms, including monitoring, and management of server infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve build and release management systems
• Implement internal APIs and tools to support backend services.
• Perform customization and configuration changes on platforms.
