Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon Technologies Software Platform team has an immediate need for a Platform Engineer Team Lead. Responsibilities include leading the effort for Site Deployment activities to deliver the physical compute, network, storage environments to the customer’s locations in the Continental United States (CONUS) and abroad. The Platform Engineer Team Lead will be working with the program’s Facilities Integration Team (FIT) deployment teams and will coordinate with customers in the onsite installation of hardware components and systems throughout the globe. The ideal individual needs to be a highly motivated self-starter that can quickly learn/adapt to complex situations/problems, identify root cause, formulate corrective action plans, communicate effectively and drive to completion/resolution.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and a minimum 8 years of related work experience
  • Experience in a leadership position
  • Experience with Datacenter design, development and deployment
  • Experience with field/site deployment of complex computer networks, storage, and COTS based systems
  • Current TS/SCI & CI Poly security clearance is required day 1.
  • U.S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Able to read and interpret detailed cable and system wiring diagrams to aid in the installation of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Hardware
  • COTS Platform hardware installation experience
  • A strong understanding of basic power, grounding, and signal types including cabling and related Networking (CAT-5/CAT-5E/CAT-6), Coaxial Cable, and various Fiber-optic cabling designs and types
  • Experience with Various Drawing types, AutoCAD/Visio/PDF
  • Familiarity of Broadcom/VMware
  • Understanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Management exposure for schedule tracking
  • Logistics and scheduling experience
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities for the implementation and deployment of systems
  • Experience with creating and reviewing Basis of Estimate (BOE) required support to provision the installation and configuration of hardware and virtualized systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design implementation and deployment of IT infrastructure projects, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud solutions
  • Manage a team of engineers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
  • Lead teams of 2-4 engineers in daily tasking while on site
