About The Position

Uncountable is seeking driven software engineers with a focus on Generative AI deployment in software. Uncountable’s software platform is used by scientists in leading scientific R&D organizations to structure and analyze experimental data. Uncountable’s users are solving critical problems in materials science, chemistry, biotech, and other scientific fields, and our goal is to help them solve those problems faster. Your role will be to bring the full power of ongoing advances in LLMs to bear on real-world problems and friction faced by scientists every day. You’ll be building AI-powered search and visualization tools, next-generation UX that use multimodal LLMs as the UI, intelligent research assistants, and more. This is a unique opportunity to join the front-line effort to accelerate scientific progress using LLMs and generative AI.

Requirements

2 years of development experience
Strong interest in Generative AI
Solid computer science and software engineering fundamentals

Nice To Haves

B.S. in computer science
Experience shipping software incorporating Generative AI to users (e.g. started an LLM startup or shipped a side project with real usage)
Familiarity with fullstack web development

Responsibilities

Building specific LLM powered features end-to-end, including both LLM-specific tasks (prompting, optimizing latency, tuning/testing behavior) and traditional fullstack development tasks (coding frontends/backends, designing APIs and databases)
Developing a great in-house LLM stack to serve the evolving needs of our product (API integration, testing, observability, caching, infrastructure for fine-tuning and inference, etc)
