Veryable is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer specializing in DevOps to join our Core Platform Engineering team. This pivotal, hands-on role is for an individual who thrives on solving complex problems, building efficient systems, and driving cloud operations innovation, ultimately advancing our platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Circle CI.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with database management services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and RedShift.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to take on complex problems, break them down, and drive optimal solutions.
  • A relentless curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement, coupled with a winning attitude.
  • Able to work in-office at our headquarters in Downtown Dallas.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Experience with data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the reliability and performance of the platform through the implementation and maintenance of strong CI/CD practices, monitoring and logging systems, and incident response runbooks.
  • Be a key voice in technical planning and communication.
  • Document specifications and maintain development environments.
  • Architect & Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Handle critical incidents on-call and participate in postmortem analysis and remediation efforts.
  • Maintain SLAs and communicate with stakeholders about platform uptime and performance.
  • Solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in the cloud space.
