Raytheon is seeking an Associate Director to join our Engineering team in Aurora, Colorado as the Platform Automation & Cyber (PAC) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) /Product Owner (PO). In this role, you will work with a team of engineers that are responsible for factory development and operational environments consisting of a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware. These environments provide the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset. The IPTL/PO plans the team’s scope to complete tasks timely and efficiently during each program increment. The team’s scope involves ensuring that the program’s complex suite of software and hardware subsystems are available and ready to support its mission. In this role, the IPTL/PO will report to the Chief Product Owner and will have an impact across various functions and program teams.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience in Program Management (Leading a Technical Team) and/or large IPT execution or related experience in the Defense Industry to include managing and implementing design changes, including preparation of technical artifacts, impact analysis, and participation in formal design and configuration review boards (e.g., CCB, TRB, or equivalent).
  • Experience developing a track record of developing customer relationships to fulfill their needs and ensure their satisfaction and continued business In the Defense Industry.
  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g.: Scrum, SAFe, pipelines) to include experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with VMware and RedHat products including RHEL
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (E.g. Python, Bash, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices such as OWASP, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with scanning tools (E.g. Nessus, Fortify, Anchore).
  • Experience with Cyber hardening and STIG compliance.
  • Experience executing releases within a DevSecOps framework, including integration of automated testing, security controls, change governance, and operational handoff.
  • Experience planning and executing orchestrated environment release deployments designed to maintain continuous mission operations, minimizing or eliminating system downtime while preserving full operational availability.
  • Advanced Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting on premise Platform/Infrastructure systems Network, Storage, and Typical Data center designs.
  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment.
  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations).
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Software Deploy Automation experience (Chef).
  • Experience in transitioning systems to operations.
  • Ability to knock down barriers, remove roadblocks and negotiate change.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive planning skills with the ability to analyze technical and financial data and reports.
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and activities.
  • Cybersecurity integration experience, including implementing security requirements, system hardening, patching strategies, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring systems maintain an approved security posture within governed.
  • Experience with COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple environments, managing various labs and operational site support, managing the team’s backlog, leading the team during program increment planning, managing the team’s capacity, conducting retrospectives to continuously improve after each program increment, and developing metric-driven BOEs in support of EAC as it relates to cost and schedule.
  • Participate in various program reviews and conduct presentations to the customer as well as senior program management.
  • Lead a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) to achieve program objectives, including technical, cost, schedule, and quality performance.
  • Oversee and provide daily directions to the PAC Product Team to include guidance on Project resource allocation, utilization, and optimization.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of goals, progress, and risks.
  • Manage multiple factory & site environments across various locations and ensure their readiness and availability.
  • Define and track detailed program schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure compliance with RTX processes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Present status and EAC data to program leadership
  • Responsible for metric-driven BOEs and support LRE/EAC activities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, while driving opportunity capture to improve program outcomes.
  • Regularly interact with the End-User (US Space Force) by managing and nurturing the business relationship, managing expectations versus scope of contract, proactively addressing emerging needs, and identifying results.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Owner and align the Product Team’s priorities with program leadership.
  • Ensure security and compliance are integrated into the platform.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement within the IPT.
  • Willingness to travel in support of offsite testing and meetings.
  • Work in an Agile program environment converting strategy and strategic initiatives into well-developed plans and objectives over different time frames captured a backlog of features and stories.
  • Work in a classified lab on-site in Aurora, Colorado.
