Our challenge We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery standards for a complex infrastructure console serving multiple personas such as operators, engineers, and administrators. This pivotal role will define the architectural blueprint across the front-end experience, backend aggregation layers, data ingestion patterns, identity and access management, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will set technical direction, establish guardrails, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, observable, and resilient while guiding teams to implement consistent, robust patterns. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Chandler, AZ is $120k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

Requirements

  • Experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or architecture roles.
  • 2+ years leading architecture for distributed, enterprise-scale platforms and complex systems.
  • Proven experience designing full-stack architectures including front end, backend BFF/API layers, and data/integration components.
  • Deep knowledge of API architecture, governance, versioning, contracts, error handling, pagination, filtering, and backward compatibility.
  • Strong expertise in authentication and authorization mechanisms such as RBAC, ABAC, SSO, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.
  • Extensive experience establishing observability standards, monitoring, and SLO/SLA management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions, influence cross-team stakeholders, and mentor engineers.
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows, CI/CD practices, and automation tools.
  • Experience with enterprise orchestration platforms like BMC TrueSight Orchestrator or equivalent.
  • Strong background in database schema design, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Working knowledge of ITSM/ITIL processes and workflows.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design, error handling, and versioning strategies.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, especially TOSCA for functional and regression testing.

  • Additional expertise in database optimization and performance enhancement.
  • Familiarity with ITSM, ITIL, and related tools.
  • Commitment to clean, maintainable, and well-documented code practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the architectural blueprint for a multi-faceted infrastructure console, ensuring scalability, security, observability, and resilience.
  • Define and enforce standards for API design, data modeling, persona-based UX, and end-to-end testing automation.
  • Partner with product, UX, security, SRE, and engineering teams to translate macro requirements into coherent and deliverable architecture frameworks.
  • Establish architectural best practices for distributed systems, governance, and API management, including versioning, contracts, error taxonomy, pagination, and backward compatibility.
  • Lead technical decision-making, influence stakeholders, and mentor senior engineers.
  • Set standards for observability, including metrics, logs, traces, and SLO/SLA-aligned monitoring.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data ingestion, identity/access management, and automation orchestration strategies.
  • Promote clean, maintainable, and industry-compliant code and documentation practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing strategies, including unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
