YOUR DAY TO DAY : Electroform or plate parts according to drawings, work orders, BOMs and specifications. Comply with all Corporate, Federal, State and Local, Quality, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies, regulations and standards. Machines and Equipment Involved: All machines and equipment in the electroforming department. YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR : Follows written instructions and drawings and/or sketches. Sets up and controls plating equipment to coat metal objects electrolytically with nickel, copper, cadmium, or other metal to provide exterior surface or protective surfaces according to specifications. Verifies work order to determine size and composition of object to be plated, type of plating solution, thickness and location of specified plating metal, amount of electrical current and time required to complete plating process. Measures, marks, and masks areas to be excluded from plating as indicated in work order or drawing. Assembles parts to plating fixtures. Immerses object in cleaning and rinsing baths prior to plating to established work instructions. Processes parts through plating baths. Suspends parts from cathode rod (negative terminal) and immerses parts in plating solution. Controls rectifier to adjust the specified flow of current through the plating solution from anode to cathode to permit electro deposit of metal on part. Examines part visually at end of process to determine thickness of metal deposit or measures thickness, using instruments, such as micrometers or dial calipers. Rinses parts in water and dries them. Disassembles plated parts from fixtures. Inspects parts with video borescope as necessary. Performs a variety of other duties such as etching of products. Works around chemicals wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, safety glasses, face shield, etc. as required) when performing assigned work. Works in a safe manner, maintains safety standards and reports all unsafe conditions immediately. Complies with all Corporate, City, County, State and Federal policies, regulations and standards. Maintains a neat, orderly, and safe work area. Maintains on-going communication with co-workers and supervisor/manager regarding projects, problems incurred, etc. Completes assigned tasks timely and professionally. Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager Works during scheduled hours. Maintains quality output while meeting department production requirements. Assists in continuous improvement efforts to improve on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and inventory turns, elimination of waste and 5S compliance
