Overview The Plate Saw operator will perform precision measuring, cutting, and finishing of raw materials used for manufacturing. Responsible for setting up, operating, and running the CNC Plate Saw equipment. Responsibilities REPONSIBILITIES: Cut order per nesting sheet instructions and document necessary information. Follow set guidelines for proper inspection of material and cut size. Keep work areas clean and unused material put away in proper location. Transfer completed pieces to inventory, both physically and systematically. Required to use proper lifting equipment (forklift, crane with vacuum lifter) when handling material. Know and understand proper procedures for operating plate saws and HEM saw. Maintain maintenance and inspection checklist for plate saws, HEM saw and lifting equipment. Label completed cut pieces and unused remanent material. Use a forklift to load or unload, move or stack materials or products safely in their appropriate place. Pull material using FIFO. Always maintain inventory batch traceability. Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the identification of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Clean and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity. Qualifications Preferred Education/Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
