About The Position

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY:      Responsible for learning and performing all functions of plate mounting for a Soma Printing Press.   JOB DUTIES: Understanding and compliance with all Safety, Quality, Productivity, and SOP’s as established by Mondi and our Customers. Order and prepare all necessary materials needed to support printing operation.  Mount all necessary jobs. Demount all jobs, wash and store plates. Clean aniloxes.  Read proofs. Track inventory of press supplies, i.e., inks, solvents, plates, sleeves. Inspect and ensure fit for use. Direct and train new employees.  Operations will include the use of various hand tools and equipment such as, scales, micrometers, mounting, cleaning, and computer operated Flexo printing presses.  The use, knowledge and disposal of hazardous materials such as various solvents and inks.  Accurate completion of various reports and centerlines including daily production report and specification sheets.  Utilizes fundamental leadership actions in the instruction of his/her daily activities within the framework of the team. Maintains parts on hand for upcoming production jobs. Maintains equipment in proper working conditions and communicates to maintenance and his/her operator, supervisor or team leader when equipment is in need of maintenance. Maintains good housekeeping within 5S standard. Understands the importance of company’s strategic goals and objectives. Displays the necessary effort to achieve these goals and is held accountable for doing so. Perform other related duties as assigned. Manages hazardous waste satellite accumulations areas Oversee hazardous waste satellite / accumulation areas and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, disposal, documentation, etc.

Requirements

  • Must have experience operating a printing press
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail abilities
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must be dependable
  • Standing and walking up to 100% of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a tape measure and other hand tools
  • Must be physically and mentally active and alert
  • 0-2 years manufacturing experience; mechanical and industrial skills helpful
