Cardinal Systems Inc. is one of the nation's largest technologically advanced manufacturers of galvanized steel walls for in-ground swimming pools. In addition to steel walls, we manufacture steel steps and benches, aluminum coping, liner track, deck drains, liner bead and other custom fabrications. As a Material Handler, you are an integral part of our organization. The Material Handler ensures orderly production of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product. The Material Handler contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Previous manufacturing experience required
  • Previous forklift operation experience required
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
  • Proficient math skills required
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Proficient verbal and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot

Responsibilities

  • Proper utilization of banding equipment and stretch wrap all pallets
  • Safely and accurately operate material handling equipment
  • Understanding of company's work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, quality standards, and SOP's
  • Learn basic Global Shop procedures (clocking in & out of jobs, daily production & material transfers, checking inventory status, and completing daily tasks)
  • Understanding of production location, inventory locations, and staged locations of finished goods off production lines.
  • Track weights obtained and accurately label each stack of steel prior to restocking inventory locations.
  • Develop an understanding of product knowledge to perform quality checks on parts
  • Learn how to knowledgably read prints/documents
  • Understanding of the process and flow of the department
  • Monitor and review the existing standards, making or implementing suggestions that will further improve efficiency
  • Maintain a level of quality that meets or exceeds the company standard
  • Learn how to complete production and quality data sheets with accuracy
