Our Plastics Department is looking for a driven, people‑focused Department Manager to champion safety, quality, and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in leadership, business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of production experience with proven supervisory leadership (painting process experience a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, MS Office (especially Excel), and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with MRP/Kanban systems and quality management processes.
  • A leadership style that balances accountability, fairness, and positive employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production operations with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping.
  • Plan and manage production schedules, ensuring materials, staffing, and workflow align with customer demand.
  • Drive quality performance by partnering with Quality on audits, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Champion continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and cost‑reduction opportunities.
  • Build a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Develop and mentor supervisors and team members, fostering accountability, engagement, and skill growth.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, addressing issues and optimizing efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality, Safety, Engineering, HR, and senior leadership to support smooth operations and strategic goals.
