About The Position

The B Operator needs run the plastic machines, help A Operators with setups, machine adjustments, and daily activities, while complying with safety, quality, and production schedules.

Requirements

Skill to set up and operate plastic injection molding machines which can be learned on the job.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions or special instructions related to changes in procedures.
Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and give assistance to new personnel.
Ability to interpret manufacturing specifications (blueprints, process sheets, daily job cards, operating instructions, etc.) in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to stay positive with a good attitude and values Trimark’s Core Values.
To perform basic machine setup
To determine overall quality of finished plastic products. An A Operator can assist as required.
To operate forklift and other machinery in a safe manner.
Set Up & Machine Programming
Set Up production equipment with good manufacturing practices and operating procedures
Performing shutdown and startup procedures on department specific equipment
Departmental paperwork
Ensure paperwork is completed & filled out correctly
Ensure department work instructions and special instructions are read, understood and followed
Assist A operator at times loading job information into JDE
Ensure quality checks are completed for every job you are producing
Operating
Perform operations in a safe manner at all times
Identify operating errors and report to A Operator
Help assist A Operator in fixing operating errors, tooling issues, and quality issue
Be able to identify quality issues
Troubleshooting
Always assist the A Operator with troubleshooting issues to help build knowledge and better understanding to build yourself and the team going forward
Communication
Conveying information to others effectively
Understanding blueprints and measuring gages
Need to understand how to read blueprints and determine good or bad
Need to understand how to use correct measuring tools to gage parts such as calipers, gage pins, or any other specialty gages needed to ensure part quality
Quality Standards
Need to know “TriMark’s Quality Policy” & where it is located
Need to understand quality defects, what they are and how they happen
Need to identify quality defects

Responsibilities

Review work schedule to make sure of what jobs are to be started or completed.
Sets up machine and checks mold, air and water lines, and other adjustments to minimize safety hazards and help achieve highest level of quality production possible. Assistance from the A operator may be needed at times.
Test run first few pieces for quality check and make adjustments as required to achieve full production capacity as quickly as possible. An A Operator can assist as required.
Monitors quality of parts regularly to minimize time-consuming sorting, or waste.
Monitors production rates to see that they meet established standards.
Notifies Process Engineer, Manufacturing Coordinator and/or Manufacturing Manager of recurring problems promptly.
Keeps accurate time and job records.
Provides information to the A operator about any equipment, tool, or running issue.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost time accidents.
Follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.
Maintains a good attendance record.
Performs other duties as assigned.
