Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking to employ a Certified Physician Assistant in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery to join their employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida. The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery practice includes a plastic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in craniofacial and microvascular reconstructive surgery and a team of clinical and administrative support staff. It is an established practice in high demand and is growing to meet the needs of the community. Clinical responsibilities will include patient management in the clinic, rounding/consults at the hospital and first assist in the operating room. Opportunity Highlights: 40 hours a week; Flexible scheduling required. Limb Salvage and Reconstruction of Extremities after Trauma or Cancer Breast Reconstruction after Mastectomy and Lumpectomy Advanced Breast Reconstruction techniques including microsurgical DIEP flap Vascularized bone grafts Complex microsurgical reconstruction in patients of all ages, head-to-toe Assists in the preoperative assessment and preparation of the necessary paperwork and orders for scheduled cases. Performs wound checks, suture removal, drain removal and tissue expansions Performs minor surgical procedures without in-room supervision including wound debridement, wound repair, injectable therapy, chemical peels, dermabrasion. Performs first assist duties Follows patients and writes progress notes independently of the attending surgeon Writes orders to guide the management of patients in the Recovery Room, ICU and wards to include dictation of discharge summaries Qualifications: Must have FL License and NCCPA Board-Certification Must be current in BLS and ACLS Have experience in OR with strong desire for growth and skill development Desire to assist in OR and follow patients on their reconstructive journey Benefit Highlights: Competitive salary No contract or non-compete clause, candidates sign offer letters only. The PA functions as part of the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced care to patients. The PA is licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine to perform medical services delegated by the supervising physician(s).'
