About The Position

The Plastic Welder and Finisher is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating fabrication machinery and equipment to bend, cut, and form materials to meet precise specifications. This role works directly from drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and work instructions to accurately produce fabricated components with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or fabrication environments.
  • Ability to read and follow simple drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to measure and verify parts accurately.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Fabrication role preferred.
  • High school completion or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the LSI QMS (standardized work and documented procedures).
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives through the monthly department presentations, including newspapers, 5s, two second lean opportunities and understanding and participates in improving the LSI environmental impacts and aspects.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable standards: ISO 9001 quality, 14001 environmental, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures (including participating in safety audits, following machine guarding and lockout/tag out, proper lifting techniques, etc.), PPE requirements, and reporting incidents (including reporting near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately).
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic fabrication machinery to bend, cut, and form materials according to specifications.
  • Read and follow drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce components accurately.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic fixtures to complete fabrication tasks.
  • Perform simple machine setups and make minor adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect fabricated parts for correctness and report defects or deviations to a lead or supervisor.
  • Safely load, unload, and handle raw materials and finished components.
  • Assist higher level fabricators with complex setups, tooling adjustments, or multistep fabrication tasks.
