About The Position

Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Join our Plastic Surgery team as a skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to work independently and collaboratively with plastic surgeons and other healthcare professionals. You will provide crucial pre- and post-operative care, manage clinic flow, handle inpatient needs, and oversee wound care to ensure excellent patient outcomes. As you become integrated into the department, this role offers a pathway to transition into a surgical first-assist capacity in the operating room.

Requirements

Current licensure as a PA-C in Massachusetts
MA Prescriptive Authority (controlled substances) & DEA registration.
2+ years APP experience preferred; surgical, wound care, or plastic surgery experience a plus.
Strong interest in developing surgical first-assist skills.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, time management, & interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Pre & post-op assessments for cosmetic & reconstructive surgery patients.
Participate in consultations & treatment planning; educate patients.
Support surgical planning & coordinate pre-surgery steps.
Manage post-surgical complications with surgeons.
Opportunity to support individual surgeons practice, including performing occasional first assist in operating facilities.
Document care in Epic EMR.
Coordinate care with other specialties (oncology, dermatology, etc.).
Educate patients/families on procedures, post-op & wound care, scar management.
Inpatient evaluation & management of complex wounds.
Participate in quality improvement, research (as applicable).
