About The Position

Plastic Surgery Clinical Assistant -Reflections-Tarpon Springs & Clearwater Reflections is seeking a polished, compassionate, and clinically skilled Plastic Surgery Assistant to partner directly with our board-certified plastic surgeon in delivering an exceptional patient experience. Patient and Surgical Care Obtaining vital signs, patient health history, and accurate documentation of patient visits Assisting the Physician during Examinations, Consults, and Procedures Reviewing patient treatment plans, medications, and physician instructions to patients Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties and answering questions Sends Prescriptions to Pharmacies by electronic, fax or written form at the direction of the ordering physician. Coordinating referrals for patients to specialists. Calls patients to relay advice and instructions from the surgeon Removes sutures and dressing as indicated by the surgeon; reapplies dressings as needed Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms. Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipt of supplies. Provide leadership to others through example, training and sharing of knowledge/skill. In-Office Procedure Suite Prepare procedure rooms and ensure surgical readiness Maintain sterile technique in accordance with OSHA standards Clean and turn over rooms efficiently between procedures Manage instrument sterilization and autoclave processes Monitor and maintain surgical inventory and supplies Coordinate equipment maintenance and compliance testing Complete pathology paperwork and coordinate specimen handling Operational Excellence Maintain accurate documentation and clinical correspondence Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care Monitor supply levels and proactively manage inventory Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment Uphold Reflections’ standard of professionalism and patient experience Job Skill & Qualifications: 2 years of experience in plastic surgery or general surgery preferred Direct experience with procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, abdominoplasty, liposuction, facelift, and related surgeries strongly preferred Medical background required; Surgical Technologist, Medical Assistant, LPN, RN, or equivalent clinical training preferred Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding is advantageous Experience with EMR systems preferred Preferably experienced in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or medical aesthetics Clinically confident with strong working knowledge of surgical procedures Empathetic communicator who builds trust quickly Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Calm, adaptable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced setting Service-driven with a commitment to excellence Professional in appearance and demeanor You understand that plastic surgery is both clinical and emotional. Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in plastic surgery or general surgery preferred
  • Direct experience with procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, abdominoplasty, liposuction, facelift, and related surgeries strongly preferred
  • Medical background required; Surgical Technologist, Medical Assistant, LPN, RN, or equivalent clinical training preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding is advantageous
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred
  • Preferably experienced in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or medical aesthetics
