About The Position

TE Wire & Cable LLC, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Plastic Extrusion Operator to join our thermocouple wire manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion machinery to produce high-quality insulated thermocouple wire products. The ideal candidate will have prior extrusion experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of extrusion machine operation experience, preferably in wire or cable manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of extrusion processes, thermoplastics, and material handling.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe machine operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively, both independently and collaboratively.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plastic extrusion machines for thermocouple wire insulation.
• Set up extrusion equipment, including dies, feeds, and temperature controls, to meet product specifications.
• Inspect wire for proper dimensions, surface quality, and consistency throughout production runs.
• Perform regular quality checks using micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, adjust machine settings, and resolve production problems as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Document production data, machine settings, and quality results accurately.
• Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and minor machine repairs if required.
• Uphold company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
