About The Position

The Plasma Processing Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors. This role involves compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and requires reporting to the Assistant Center Manager. Key responsibilities include collecting plasma samples, ensuring proper storage of plasma units, verifying unit labeling, utilizing sterile techniques, and preparing shipping and disposal documentation. The technician will also monitor equipment temperatures, conduct daily calibrations, and maintain accurate donor data records. A clean and efficient work environment must be maintained, and adherence to health and safety policies is essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in laboratory or warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Understand and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
• Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs.
• Verify the accuracy of unit labeling.
• Utilize sterile technique to draw samples and use heat sealer for sterility.
• Pack and ship samples and units in accordance with SOPs.
• Prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
• Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
• Record variances in equipment performance.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
