About The Position

The Plasma Processing Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors. This role involves compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and requires reporting to the Assistant Center Manager. Key tasks include collecting plasma samples, ensuring proper storage of plasma units, verifying unit labeling, utilizing sterile techniques, and preparing shipping documentation. The technician must monitor equipment temperatures, conduct daily calibrations, and maintain a clean work environment while following health and safety policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to follow basic instructions and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
• Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs.
• Verify the accuracy of unit labeling.
• Utilize sterile technique to draw samples and use heat sealer for sterility.
• Pack and ship samples and units in accordance with SOPs.
• Prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
• Record variances and conduct daily calibration of equipment.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
• Ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
• Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
