About The Position

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will support plasma center operations and report to the Plasma Center Manager. Your role will involve determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, ensuring compliance with regulations in the plasma collection industry. Your commitment to customer service and quality will be essential in this role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs.
• Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and develop standing orders with the Center Physician.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance as necessary.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
