About The Position

The position will be based out of our brand new plasma donation facility opening in October 2025. As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support plasma center operations and report to the Plasma Center Manager. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry and follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, and blood testing.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
