About The Position

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time hourly position, eligible for overtime pay. Days of work are Monday through Saturday with 8-hour shifts. Employees may be mandated an additional 4-hours per shift, with a 12-hour maximum for mandated overtime in a week. Employees may volunteer for additional overtime at their leisure. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Coordinate the day’s forging schedule with Press Crew, GFM Crew, Pyrometer and Supervisor. Forge Tables should be present for all material to be forged. Receive Forge Tables and Manufacturing Order Cards from the Supervisor. Arrange the schedule for maximum press utilization ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to push/pull 20 lbs. Must be able to bend and squat at least 10 times per hour Must be able to climb stairs and ladders Must be able to wear respiratory protection Must be able to operate forklifts TOOLS & EQUIPMENT Pendant Controlled Cranes Overhead Cranes Lift Trucks Slings, chains, & hooks Hand tools Hand grinder Broom, & mops Two-wheel hand trucks. Power sweeper Rags Cleaning solutions Barrels & pails Cleaning cloths, towels, tissues & soap MATERIAL Bar, slabs, billet electrodes and ingot product of various sizes. Plant utilities and facilities Rounds, and round corner square billet. Drums of scrap & trash. SOURCE OF SUPERVISION Foreman DIRECTION EXERCISED Direction of assigned personnel. WORKING PROCEDURE Receives instructions from the Foreman. Works with Recorder or other personnel to move material from operation to operation or to load or unload trucks, operate cranes, hook and unhook cranes, and operates fork trucks. Performs Janitorial functions throughout plant, offices, locker and rest rooms, cafeteria, and other areas of plant as directed by Foreman. Keeps work area clean. Operates overhead crane and forklift trucks. Wears protective clothing and equipment as required. Operates crane to load and unload machinery, to transport and weigh billets and bar, to transport scrap and trash. Segregate, weigh, and prepare scrap material for shipment. Grind intermediate cut material to ensure no burrs are present on cut faces Performs other duties as directed (5S Projects, Continuous Improvement Projects, etc.)
