Plant Utility / Laborer

Responsibilities

• Performs labor activities onsite at the direction of supervisor.
• Maintains visual surveillance of the equipment and process and reports conditions to the Supervisor that may be detrimental to the safety of the personnel, equipment, process, or environment.
• Assist with repairs or maintenance projects as required.
• Operate mobile and other equipment.
• Communicate thoroughly with various plant personnel about plant repairs that are needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have 1 year experience working as a Laborer, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work various shifts on short notice and overtime as required.
• Ability to be at work on time as scheduled.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• The ability to read documents and instructions, in written form and electronically.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Position requires bending, kneeling, walking, standing, high degree of manual dexterity, coordination, and good eye/hand coordination.
• Position requires using catwalks, working at heights, climbing ladders and stairs.
• Must be comfortable working in confined areas and spaces.
• Position requires sweeping, shoveling, digging, painting, as well as other industrial labor duties.
• Must be comfortable working in a dusty work environment, will be exposed to extreme temperatures (cold, hot, humid, windy, etc.).
• Safety is a top priority, must follow all safety practices and wear personal protective equipment.
