Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • 1+ years of forklift experience required.
  • Physically able to pick up 50 lb. bags.
  • Basic computer skill necessary for equipment startup.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexible hours and overtime are required.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and practice all safety procedures to establish a strong safety culture.
  • Keep manufacturing plant and bagging area clean and organized “30-minute tour ready” manner.
  • Neatly stack 50 lb. bags – 50 high on a pallet.
  • Verify bag stencil label on each bag for each packaging order.
  • Verify labeling on analysis tag for each packaging order.
  • Keep accurate bag counts.
  • Calibrate and operate seed bagging scale.
  • Operate bag sewer and bag stencil printer.
  • Maintain a representative sample of seed being packaged throughout the bagging order.
  • Perform and record quality seed checks.
  • Work with plant lead and learn operation of processing and treating equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning and changing equipment between bagging orders – hybrid change over.
  • Daily inspections and maintenance of equipment.
