This position will be responsible for leading a work shift in completion of steel processes. This will include training new hires and further developing all team members through creating a positive work environment and providing ongoing communication. TSS is a 24/7 operation and this position will include alternate work hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; some college or training certifications preferred
2 years manufacturing experience
1 year leadership experience or training
Forklift operator experience, and overhead crane preferred
Able to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
Excellent communication skills
This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This is a physically demanding position including extensive walking and prolonged standing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Establish and communicate team goals
Oversee the day-to-day operations of a department to ensure safety and quality
Monitor team performance and report on metrics
Identify training needs and provide coaching
Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
Assist the Supervisor with hiring process and new hire training
Conduct team meetings to update employees’ adherence to company objectives and performance goals
Provide answers to employees’ questions, assist with employee issues, and oversee work quality in compliance with guidelines
Organize workflow and review employees’ timecards to ensure accuracy of time punches according to approved work schedule
Operate machinery and equipment as needed
