About The Position

The Plant Support/Wiring Engineer is responsible for the hardware design and release of closure ECUs for HMC vehicle programs. This role involves learning the HMC program deliverables and milestones for respective vehicle programs and aligning ECU design timing to the overall vehicle program timing. The engineer will establish a DV/PV test plan for design components, support the supplier selection process, and develop component specification requirements. Additionally, the engineer will ensure timely meeting of design milestones and deliverables, track all issues related to the design and development of the component, and ensure resolution with root cause and corrective action while documenting lessons learned. The role includes leading and supporting meetings with R&D colleagues, component suppliers, and cross-functional teams, as well as supporting on-site production activities in North American manufacturing facilities when applicable. The engineer will create and present reports for management review, drive innovation by remaining current with new technology and competitive products, and provide technical support for body electronics-related concerns for pre-production and post-production issues. The position requires travel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
