Job Profile Plant Superintendent Working location: Concord, NH, USA General Description Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the plant in order to meet customer delivery expectations while ensuring safety, product quality, and efficiency of process within the plant.

Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a paper industry or related setting.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership abilities, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires computer skills with strong skills in WORD, EXCEL.
  • Multi-tasking capability in a high-pressure environment is a fundamental requirement.
  • Requires occasional travel.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, directs, and controls activities for all manufacturing personnel
  • Schedules all production activities.
  • Communicates the schedule and current lead times to customer service personnel.
  • Primary contact regarding hiring of all direct labor employees and maintaining the cross-training matrix for those employees.
  • Works with all area managers to ensure direct labor employees are properly evaluated.
  • Directs employees to achieve the best product delivery and quality.
  • Responsible for overall quality and cost performance for every roll.
  • Oversees assigned capital projects.
  • Visits any customer site as required by the customer or Sales group.
  • Ensures the SPI and industry standards are met for all rolls.
  • Travels to other Andritz facilities and interfaces with said Plants to facilitate Plant efficiency as necessary.
  • Responsible for reporting issues or concerns to the Plant Manager.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts including LEAN, RCFA, RCM, ISO, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
