About The Position

Responsible for the installation, repair and replacement of distribution facilities such as mains and services and for the operation and maintenance of construction equipment. Responsible for the installation and removal of gas meters, meter settings and regulators and for inspection/testing of service and house lines.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 18 months recent field experience in a plant department classification or recent experience as a Customer Service A
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) and certification to operate company trucks under DOT/Kentucky motor carrier safety regulations for intra-state drivers within 6 months of entering the Plant and Service Combination classification
• Must have the ability to perform basic math calculations
• Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrated skills in the use of hand tools.
• Must be able to prepare legible, complete and accurate orders
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in providing extraordinary customer service, particularly in situations where tact and diplomacy are needed
• Depending on applicant’s background, may be required to pass the entry-level Customer Service B tests
• Must live within 20 miles or 25 minutes from 1504 US 68, Maysville, KY
• This position is subjected to DOT Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations
• Must be able to pass plant/service strength test
• Must be able to pass odor-o-meter test
• Must be able to be certified to wear a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Required to work in all weather conditions
• Depending on incumbent’s background, will be required to complete applicable customer service or plant training
• Depending on incumbent’s background, will be required to pass Customer Service A test within required time frame
• Successful candidate may work non-traditional hours
• Successful candidate will be required for Plant and Service call out overtime
• Successful candidate will be required to work two weeks of routing service work each quarter (excluding call out overtime)

Nice To Haves

• Experience reading/interpreting gauges and dials is preferred
