About The Position
The Plant/Service Combination position involves assisting with the operation and maintenance of distribution facilities, including main lines and services. The role requires performing miscellaneous duties related to plant operations, operating line locators to mark pipelines and curb boxes, and conducting repairs on curb boxes as needed. Additionally, the position entails performing corrosion test readings, critical valve inspections, and minor maintenance on tools and equipment. General maintenance duties such as painting, mowing, and cleaning are also part of the job. The employee will respond to various customer and company work requests, including transfers, disconnects, reads/rereads, locates/repairs curb boxes, and removing active and inactive meters. The role includes operating construction equipment such as two-ton trucks, ditching machines, backhoes, and back filler-tampers, and assisting in the installation, repair, and replacement of distribution facilities. Availability for overtime, emergency, and call-out work is required.
