About The Position

Join our Kansas City bakery as the Plant Sanitarian, a key member of our food safety and sanitation organization responsible for maintaining world‑class sanitary conditions in our manufacturing facility. In this on‑site role, you will support and guide hourly and salaried team members while ensuring all sanitation activities meet rigorous standards for food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability.   Our Kansas City facility, home to more than 600 employees and more than a century of food‑making excellence, is a high‑volume, high‑performance environment producing our iconic Cheez‑It brand. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and demonstrated sanitation and supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of chemical usage, handling, and safety.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and promote positive employee relations.
  • Understanding of general industrial safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Sanitation Execution - Provide daily oversight and coordination of sanitation activities across a 24/7 operation. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while ensuring all tasks are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule.
  • Assessing & Verifying Facility Conditions - Conduct visual and analytical evaluations of sanitary and environmental conditions using established KPIs. Prioritize risk‑based corrective actions and ensure that verification and validation procedures meet all food safety and regulatory expectations.
  • Supporting Program Implementation & Compliance - Work closely with the Sanitation Center of Excellence and cross‑functional partners, including Engineering and Manufacturing, to ensure sanitation programs align with corporate policies, industry standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Managing Resources & Budget Alignment - Assist in overseeing labor, supplies, equipment, and contracted services associated with sanitation activities. Ensure resources are appropriately allocated and financial stewardship supports plant goals and sanitation effectiveness.
