Job Summary The plant relief person must know and understand every job in the plant. Their hours vary from day to day, and their days off may vary from week to week.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate good judgement when carrying out duties as assigned.

  • Has demonstrated the ability to run equipment efficiently.
  • Basic math and statistics reasoning required.
  • Good technical skills with ability to disassemble and assemble equipment.
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in certain situations.
  • Basic computation skills required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • English is required as the written and spoken language.
  • A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a forklift operator license.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a valid State of California Pasteurizer’s License.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a valid State of California Weigher’s and Sampler’s License.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a state of California Charm Test certification.
  • Must be able to acquire a Yard Truck Certification.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire a state issued Driver’s License Class C.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and understand all the “Standard Operating Procedures”.
  • Pasteurize milk and milk products as required by law.
  • Sample and weigh products as required by law.
  • Perform jobs on all shifts as requested by the production supervisor which may include sanitation, receiving, HTST clean up, evaporator and dryer operation, liquid processing, powder operation, palletizing, rework, janitor, or other jobs that may be created in the production department.
  • Required to climb stairs, ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Must notify foreperson or supervisor if standards are not met.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and neat work area.
  • Assist with break and lunch relief as needed.
  • When not covering vacations, this person will work in the powder plant department as assigned.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly.
  • Responsible for keeping all floors, walls, machines, and pipes clean.
  • Responsible for all work being done properly and in a timely fashion.
  • Must work in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Follow all company Policies.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance at work.
  • Support and enforce SQF / QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs. “Food Safety and Quality” are the responsibilities of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
