As a Reliability Engineer, you will lead the transformation of our maintenance department into a proactive, high-performing team. You will drive significant improvements in plant safety, reliability, and productivity by leveraging your engineering expertise and problem-solving skills. You will be instrumental in overcoming existing maintenance challenges and building a world-class, proactive reliability program within a PSM regulated batch chemical process plant. This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to develop your skills and advance into either engineering or production management leadership positions within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • 2+ years' experience in management (maintenance or operations preferred)
  • 3+ years' experience in batch process engineering in a PSM regulated facility
  • 2+ years' experience managing ERP systems EAM preferred
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements
  • Proficient in various software including, MiniTab, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor both technical and hourly employees fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Proactive leader that can help a team of 1 direct reports and 7 indirect reports prioritize maintenance tasks
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLC programs using Rockwell Automation products and software. FactoryTalk experience a plus
  • Understanding of process equipment and technologies, such as reaction, mixing, fluid flow, heat transfer system, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze data, and use quantitative information to drive priority and decision making
  • Demonstrated meeting facilitation and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work
  • Understanding of process hazard analysis (PHA) methodologies, especially HAZOP & LOPA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive mechanical integrity program, ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing equipment downtime
  • Lead the strategic transition of preventative maintenance tracking from legacy systems to our enterprise asset management (EAM) platform, optimizing asset lifecycle management
  • Proactively manage plant hot oil, refrigeration, cooling tower, compressed air and boiler systems by developing and utilizing MTBF to determine optimum PM schedules
  • Optimize critical spare parts inventory to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Proficient in identifying the underlying causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions
