The Quality Engineer supports the Quality Manager in ensuring that quality standards are met during the manufacturing process. Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer: Back up for Quality Manager as Customer and Supplier liaison for plant quality activities and concerns. Respond to Customer concerns per HP Pelzer and Customer requirements. Supports investigation of, root cause determination, corrective action implementation and response to Customer Complaints. Initial Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), work with Suppliers to resolve issues, escalating to Corp. Quality Engineer when necessary. Participates in the Product Development Process (PDP) to ensure Customer requirements are met. Develops and maintains Process Parameter sheets in conjunction with Engineering to control production processes and identify areas requiring corrective actions. Maintains Quality documentation, including but not limited to Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAP, etc. Prepare and submit Customer PPAPs. Develops and maintains Process Parameter sheets in conjunction with Engineering to control production processes and identify areas requiring corrective actions. Support Quality Auditors in root cause analysis and corrective action implantation. Maintains Quality BMS documents and quality assurance standards to meet customer demands. Reviews quality assurance instructions, assembly specifications and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations and work assignments. Maintain files for all test results, gage calibrations, dock audits, production records, and material certifications. Maintain weekly/monthly scrap reports. Complete/update PPAP packages. Establish and maintain all quality documents, samples, customer contact, supplier development, production start – up, product launch, and correction of production variances and warrant analysis. Maintain quality control sampling system, procedures, and statistical techniques. Adhere to applicable IATF 16949 requirements. Adhere to applicable ISO 14001 requirements. May be required to travel. Salary range is $75,000 - $85,000. Specific salary is commensurate with experience and factors such as relevant experience, education, certifications and licenses, skills, and training.
