About The Position

As a Production Supervisor in our Fabrication/Welding/Paint department, you will lead day to day activities in the department, provide coaching to the team as needed, and communicate with the department manager and cross functionally. Successful candidates will also have experience with fabrication and welding of aluminum and stainless-steel assemblies. This role will start with a 5AM - 3:30PM Monday - Thursday schedule, then transition to 3:15PM -1:45AM Monday to Thursday as we go into production with the incremental shift. Additional hours on Friday may be needed as well. This position requires the candidate to be available to work in-person in our Grimes, IA facility.

Requirements

  • BA in Industrial Technology preferred, AA Degree or commensurate experience
  • 2-5 years fabrication and welding experience required
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with fabrication and welding
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Gmail
  • Ability to use basic math, writing, and computer skills
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and comprehend procedures in English
  • Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools
  • Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safety, quality, and production of the areas assigned
  • Routinely meets with the Production Manager to discuss the department's work order status and progress
  • Assists with the coordination, direction, and assignment of personnel and tasks within the applicable department
  • Performs the supervision of the department's production activity in the absence of the Manager
  • May be responsible for resolving parts/material and assigned interdepartmental production issues and problems
  • Will be assigned additional continuous improvement projects to be completed in addition to daily activities
  • Ensure that parts received are of satisfactory quality and that work performed meets production standards
  • Discontinue work process to immediately notify supervisor of any/all quality defects
  • Record and report work order information and production times as required
  • Maintain clean and orderly working area at all times
  • Leave equipment and materials in proper place and order at the end of shift
  • Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
