About The Position

The Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. He/she leads continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provides data analysis. The main missions of the role include approving and implementing internal work instructions on the production lines, ensuring that all necessary inspections are included, and that the related measuring equipment is available and meets requirements. The engineer will also ensure the respect of the control plan, define and update inspection instructions, organize and perform gauge R&R studies, assess manufacturing methods for quality improvements, conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), facilitate the establishment of quality specifications, and provide leadership in APQP and PPAP processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years automotive experience.
  • Strong analytical and proven team-oriented problem solving skills.
  • Strong customer satisfaction orientation.
  • Ability to develop strong leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of Metrology.
  • Above average communication and interpersonal skills.
  • English speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Approve and implement internal work instructions on the production lines.
  • Ensure the respect of the control plan and archive required quality records.
  • Define and update the inspection instructions according to the control plan.
  • Organize and perform gauge R&R studies.
  • Perform measurements and data collection on engineering samples.
  • Assess new and existing manufacturing methods for potential quality/cost improvements.
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Facilitate the establishment and implementation of quality specifications.
  • Develop and recommend inspection, sampling techniques and quality control plans.
  • Provide leadership in APQP and PPAP processes.
