About The Position

The Plant Payroll Clerk at Saputo Inc. is responsible for compiling and managing payroll data, ensuring accuracy in wage computations, and maintaining effective communication with employees and the corporate payroll department. Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in payroll or related field.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Responsibilities

• Compiles payroll data including hours worked, personal/sick time, vacation, tax withholding, and other employee information from time sheets and records.
• Generates payroll reports as needed.
• Tracks temporary employee hours, sends to temp agencies, and verifies incoming invoices; prepares monthly accrual worksheet for the Plant Accountant.
• Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Tracks overtime and total hours worked on spreadsheets and sends reports to department managers.
• Tracks vacation and attendance, running weekly attendance reports.
• Prepares and transmits hours to corporate and distributes paychecks.
• Responds to inquiries and questions from employees, maintaining a good working relationship with the corporate payroll department.
