About The Position
The Cleaner position at ABM Industries involves performing essential cleaning duties within a nuclear plant during its yearly outage. This role is temporary and requires flexibility, as the Cleaner may be expected to work between 10 to 12 hours a day and up to 7 days a week. The primary focus of this position is to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner, adhering to all safety and compliance standards set forth by the company and regulatory authorities. The Cleaner will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall cleanliness and functionality of the plant, making it a critical role during the outage period. As part of the job, the Cleaner will follow specific procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. They will also be required to notify the Manager of any minor or major repairs needed within the facility. Establishing effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors is essential for success in this role. The Cleaner will engage in various cleaning activities, including dusting furniture, cleaning floors, washing windows, and maintaining restrooms, ensuring that all areas meet the required cleanliness standards. This position is particularly suitable for individuals who are entering the workforce or returning after a break, as no prior experience is necessary, and on-the-job training will be provided.
