Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a chemical, industrial or similar plant setting.
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour swing shift (days, nights, weekends, holidays) on a 7-on/7-off schedule.
  • Commitment to safety and reliability in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Computer and basic math skills; ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Good computer literacy for loading and inventory documentation.
  • Understanding of D.O.T. shipping and safety regulations.
  • Desire to advance within operations and take on increasing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plant equipment and systems to produce and load quality product, including DCS and manual systems.
  • Load liquid fertilizer into tanker trucks and perform outside operations including manual valves.
  • Monitor utility equipment such as boilers, cooling towers and air systems.
  • Inspect vessels and equipment, read and record instrumentation, and take product samples.
  • Follow and enforce safety procedures, including hazardous waste handling, emergency response and plant safety programs.
  • Support maintenance and turnaround activities, and understand confined space entry.
  • Keep the plant and surrounding area clean, safe and organized.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors and contractors.
