The Plant Operator performs a combination of tasks on site in making or repackaging compressed and liquefied gas. Responsibilities include sorting empty cylinders for refilling, performing necessary prefill inspections, examining returned cylinders for defects, and safely handling and filling gas products into various types of cylinders. The operator is also responsible for loading and unloading gas cylinders, understanding hazards of various gases, performing basic cylinder maintenance, conducting safety checks, managing paperwork, and maintaining a clean plant appearance.
