About The Position

The Plant Operations Technician at Air Products is responsible for controlling and monitoring hydrogen production processes at the Southern California facility. This role involves operating various equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The technician will work in a team-oriented environment focused on safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemical preferred.
• An associate's degree in Process Technology or Engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor processes to produce hydrogen.
• Operate and control furnaces, compressors, DCS monitoring systems, rotating equipment, catalyst reactors, and water treatment systems.
• Troubleshoot and respond to operating conditions and customer order rates.
• Complete operator rounds and execute minor preventative maintenance.
• Support mechanical and instrumentation maintenance and projects.
• Permit work in the field and monitor contract partners.
• Participate in Process Safety and Personnel Safety programs.
