About The Position

Under the direction of the Wastewater/Stormwater Manager or designee, the Plant Operator-In-Training operates motorized equipment and performs plant and facility operations and maintenance, including grounds keeping. This role serves as a Plant Operator Trainee, performing Plant Operator functions as needed. The position requires working rotating shifts, which include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of experience in the operations or maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities or related experience
Valid driver’s license with Class “B” CDL upon hire date
Washington State Wastewater “Operator-in-Training” certificate within six (6) months of eligibility to test
Washington State Wastewater Plant Operator I certificate within one (1) year of eligibility to test
Washington State Wastewater Plant Operator II certificate within one (1) year of eligibility to test
Washington State Wastewater Plant Operator III certificate within one (1) year of eligibility to test

Responsibilities

Operates motorized equipment
Performs plant and facility operations and maintenance including grounds keeping
Serves as Plant Operator Trainee performing Plant Operator functions as needed
