About The Position

Mitchell Quarry is a surface limestone mine/quarry seeking a First Shift Plant Operator / Maintenance Man for our operation located in Mitchell, IN. This position offers a union environment with excellent pay, pension, and benefits.
The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
Operate and monitor an aggregates plant facility
Routine equipment/plant maintenance
Involved with plant improvement projects
Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance on plant
Inspect and maintain crushers, conveyors, screens, and other equipment
Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
Operate equipment and tools with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have a dedication to safe work practices at all times
• Previous maintenance experience
• Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
• Must be willing to work a regular shift (6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
• Team player attitude
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Nice To Haves

• Experience welding and cutting is preferred
