About The Position

The Plant Operations Technician is responsible for reviewing and monitoring plant operations and processes to optimize the quality and production of products that meet required data specifications. This includes working safely and possessing good troubleshooting skills on mechanical equipment such as natural gas internal combustion engines, natural gas compressors, electrical and pneumatic controls, pumps, and control equipment. The technician will install equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves, and perform general maintenance as needed. Responsibilities also include the operation of cryogenics plants, stabilizers, amine, and glycol treatment systems, collecting data readings, and monitoring plant equipment. The technician will fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tag-out documentation, and participate in tailgate sessions with others involved in work site activities. Routine shutdowns and startups of equipment, as well as emergency procedures, will also be part of the role, along with acting as a relief operator as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related midstream work experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating (day/night) shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, and respond to call outs as needed.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters: kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in the industry or knowledge of plant operations.
  • Good understanding of utilizing horsepower and compression.
  • Warehouse knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and process failures.
  • Process Safety Management knowledge.
