GENERAL PURPOSE: Supervise the daily activities of the Maintenance and Security Department in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the Facility and as directed by the Plant Operations Manager. Responsible for the proper operation and interior/exterior maintenance of all aspects of the physical building, equipment, and grounds. Assure residents and employees safety is maintained through appropriate security measures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: In addition to performing Essential Functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based upon the requirements of the organization. Performs administrative functions such as setting maintenance and security standards, coordinating daily work assignments, and completing all necessary forms. Assist in orientation and training of Maintenance and Security personnel. Exhibit proficiency in a wide variety of building maintenance work including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, interior and exterior painting, landscaping, and janitorial task. Responsible for safe and efficient operation of the physical plant and equipment related to the property. Maintain effective inventory and loss control program for the supplies, parts, tools, and equipment of the maintenance department. Respond to and report all emergency situations. Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to immediate supervisor/manager. Report all accidents/incidents to immediate supervisor/manager within 24 hours. Perform maintenance duties as assigned by the Plant Operations Manager. Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time by management of Tohono O’odham Nation Care Authority. Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely fashion and billing information is recorded (i.e., time and material.) Ensure a safe, clean, and attractive environment for the residents, visitors, and staff. Accumulate, maintain, and provide statistics as directed. Develop methods for coordinating security services with other departments. Represent the facility at and participate in meetings required. Assist the Plant Operations Manager in developing and maintaining security objectives and standards. Review security policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes. Review complaints and/or grievances filed against security and maintenance services and make a report to the Plant Operations Manager as directed. Responsible for the Fire Safety Rules and Regulations as set forth in the Administrative Policies. Provide training, in-services, and document all personnel in fire drills, evacuation, and disaster procedures. All staff must wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste and or blood/body fluids or when doing Hazardous work i.e., working with chemicals, electrical or day to day maintenance repairs. All Staff are required to participate in the O’odham Centered Care - Managers/Supervisors will help staff in participating in O’odham Centered Care. Approves/disapproves leave request, manages work schedules, and issues disciplinary actions. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
