About The Position
As the Plant Operations Manager at Corteva Agriscience's Seed Corn Production Facility in Utica, IL, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production operations to ensure the timely development of high-quality hybrid seed. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage resources such as manpower, equipment, tools, facilities, and raw materials. Your leadership will be crucial in making operational decisions and guiding staff on various operational questions related to their responsibilities. You will be responsible for fostering a safe work culture, ensuring compliance with safety programs, and driving employee engagement in safety initiatives. In this role, you will manage daily plant operations, which encompass a wide range of activities including receiving, bulk management, conditioning, treating, packaging, maintenance, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. You will utilize LEAN Manufacturing principles and productivity tools to implement continuous improvement projects, promoting a culture of focused improvement among all employees. Your ability to coach, support, and develop your team will be essential in achieving business results and fostering collaboration. You will also be tasked with establishing performance goals that align with the business strategy, encouraging career development among your team members, and managing quality operations systems to ensure product quality. Regular communication with your team will be vital, as you will hold meetings to provide updates and ensure alignment on objectives. Additionally, you will review and approve plans related to production output, budget spending, and material efficiency, ensuring that the plant operates effectively and meets customer needs.
