About The Position

The Plant Operations Manager at Whole Foods Market is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, staffing, and consistent results. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in managing food manufacturing operations.
  • 2-4 years of leadership experience leading large teams of 300+ Team Members.
  • Proven track record in a leadership role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; Black Belt is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of large volume fresh food manufacturing and quality implications.
  • HACCP trained and GFSI audit experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced computer skills.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain management.
  • Proven leadership in continuous improvement efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with FDA/USDA policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience in implementing new technologies for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategies and plans for fresh food manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • Lead the USDA manufacturing facility to operate safely and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure operational excellence, production innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement robust safety and security inspections and training procedures.
  • Review KPI reports to resolve operational and manufacturing problems.
  • Motivate and develop a high-performing team of leaders and skilled professionals.
  • Develop structured training programs for team members.
  • Manage capital and operating budgets and oversee capital investment projects.
  • Direct and optimize the facility's overall operations and financial performance.
  • Collect operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Whole Foods Market's safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Respond to operational issues and emergencies effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve compliance issues.
  • Drive consistency in the use of digital tools and processes in the facility.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, including team members and regulators.
