About The Position

The Plant Engineer I at Tredegar Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the production and maintenance teams by providing technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair operational issues, install new equipment, and modify existing processes. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the plant's production equipment and may also manage capital and expense projects to enhance plant effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CAD software preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input on continuous process improvements related to optimizing equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Acts as a liaison between Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Operations to drive focused improvements to planned maintenance activities.
  • Assists the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager in executing the capital plan for the plant.
  • Manages capital projects as assigned and oversees execution of projects within budget and time schedule.
  • Develops and provides recommendations on projects to improve manufacturing processes by increasing output, improving quality, improving yield, reducing cost, and improving product performance based on data analysis.
  • Provides problem-solving recommendations on non-routine issues related to process, production, and quality for existing and new products.
  • Develops, reports, and shares Root Cause - Corrective Action plans for significant equipment issues.
  • Assists maintenance/technical in troubleshooting difficult equipment problems.
  • Reviews current processes and equipment and makes recommendations on equipment operation and upgrades.
  • Conducts data analysis and reporting on key metrics.
  • Assists in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for customer claims.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
