About The Position

As a Water Resources Plant Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing essential equipment that powers our water resources. You'll work with a dynamic range of systems, including pumps, motors, chemical feed equipment, compressors, valves, piping, and generators. In this role, you'll contribute your expertise to install, troubleshoot, and keep our critical equipment in top shape. The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.

Requirements

• High school diploma /GED
• OR an equivalency of 3 years of education and 6 years of related work experience in a mechanical or electronic field
• 4 years of related experience in the mechanical or electronic field
• Valid Driver's License
• Prior experience with small tools, welders, cutting torches, etc.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License (OR the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Certified Forklift Operator (ability to obtain one within 6 months from date of hire)

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in a Water Reclamation facility
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Previous experience working with diesel power generators

Responsibilities

• Maintain Equipment: Install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on essential water resources equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with OSHA standards.
• Problem-Solve and Innovate: Use your expertise to troubleshoot equipment issues, recommend repairs or replacements, and log all work, repairs, and preventive measures.
• Mentor and Lead: Support and guide junior team members and maintenance helpers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
• On-Call Availability: Be ready for a rotating 'on-call' schedule to handle after-hours and weekend needs, ensuring our water systems run smoothly 24/7.
• Assist: Assist with the hauling of ashes and screening as required for disposal via driving a tandem dump truck.
