About The Position

Ascertain that equipment is running efficiently and producing quality products and packages Repair and maintain any and all equipment and systems as required Perform preventative maintenance on plant & warehouse equipment, machinery, and systems as required Must cooperate with the equipment operators and other plant, warehouse, and maintenance employees Is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment on which he works and the safety of those operating it Other duties as assigned by management Will be required to relieve as the manager deems necessary

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a high speed machinery environment (preferably dairy)
  • Previously worked with the principals of mechanical (hydraulic and air) and electrical machines
  • Knowledge in refrigeration machinery / equipment
  • Prior experience of ammonia refrigeration a plus
  • Knowledge of boiler operation and mechanics
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing
  • Push/pull a manual pallet fork truck, up to 1000 ponds and/or ability to operate an electric fork truck
  • Ability to work in cold and damp environments
  • Climb ladders of varying heights and perform various functions while on the ladder
  • Ability to withstand noisy environments
  • Possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license

  • Prior experience of ammonia refrigeration
