About The Position

Plant Mechanic The Plant Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. Essential Job Duties include maintenance and repairs on valves, pumps, fans, motors, boilers, chillers and other plant equipment. Performs maintenance, repairs and calibrations on control system equipment. Performs inspection rounds on equipment and records system readings such as flow, pressures and temperatures. Demonstrates leadership and versatility in the application and coordination of technical workflow. Maintains Mechanical Rooms. Maintains effective communications with team members, Floor Mechanics and Supervisors to ensure prompt response to requests for repairs. This is a full time day shift position, Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Wiell Cornell Medical Center. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Five to seven years plant experience
• Must be available for weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, emergencies and scheduled work/outages
• Must adhere to and follow shift coverage procedures
• FDNY A-35 Air Compressors within 6 months of hire
• FDNY P-98 Fuel Oil Piping and Bulk Storage within 6 months of hire
• FDNY F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations within 6 months of hire
• FDNY G-60 Torch Use of Flammable Gas within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• FDNY G-29 Compressed Flammable Gases
• FDNY C-99 Compressed Natural Gas
